Mevlana’s original name was Muhammed Celaleddin. Mevlana and also Rumi were some of the names that were given to him later. Mevlana was born in Belh, an old Turkish cultural centre, in Afghanistan. A meeting with Sems-i Tebriz, whom he called his “spiritual twin”, on 15 December 1244 changed his life, after which he summed up his whole life with the words: “Hamdim, pistim, yandim”, which means: “I was immature, suffered, matured, and became enlightened”.
SEMA has been formed and developed with the divine inspiration of holy Mevlana (1207-1273)..
